Booking through Turo
Every rental goes through Turo. The Turo rental agreement is the contract that governs your trip. We don’t take cash on the side, off-platform deals, or “friend rate” arrangements. Keeps everyone protected.
Driver requirements
To rent any of our cars, the primary driver must:
- Be at least 21 years old (some exceptions exist for U.S. military)
- Hold a valid driver’s license — U.S. or international with English translation
- Pass Turo’s verification and pre-trip checks
- Be the same person who shows up at the lot for pickup
Additional drivers can be added at no charge through Turo before the trip starts. They go through the same verification.
Pickup & return
All handoffs are in person. You’ll meet one of us at the lot — Inglewood, Playa Vista, or Irvine, depending on your booking. We do a walk-around together, photograph the car’s condition, and hand you the keys.
Returns are the same flow in reverse, at the same lot you picked up from. Late returns are billed at $25 per hour after a 30-minute grace period; after 3 hours, a full extra day applies.
LAX pickup & delivery
LAX hand-off is includedon every booking — no surcharge. Tell us your terminal and arrival time and we’ll meet you there. Our Inglewood lot is about 5 minutes from LAX, so the shuttle to complete the walk-around is quick.
For door-to-door delivery anywhere else in LA or Orange County, the fee is $50 each way. Message us during booking with the address and we’ll work it out.
Mileage
Each car listing on Turo includes its daily mileage allowance — usually 200 miles/day, with longer trips often including more. Going over is fine; you just pay the per-mile overage rate listed on Turo for that car (typically $0.25 – $0.50 per mile).
Fuel & charging
Return the car at the same fuel level(or battery percentage) you got it at. If it’s lower, we’ll bill the difference at the local pump price plus a $15 service fee. EVs returned below 20% incur an extra $35 charging fee — please don’t make us drive it to the supercharger.
Insurance & protection
Turo offers protection plans at booking — Premier, Standard, and Minimum— with different deductibles and coverage. Pick whichever you’re comfortable with.
Some personal auto policies and credit cards also extend coverage to Turo rentals — check with your insurer before declining Turo’s plans. We’re hosts, not insurance agents; if you want advice on which to pick, ask Turo support.
Smoking, pets, modifications
- No smoking or vaping in any of our cars. A clean-up fee of $250 applies.
- Pets are allowedif they’re in a carrier or on a seat cover. If we have to vacuum out fur or shampoo a seat, it’s a $100 cleaning fee.
- No modifications— don’t add stickers, dashcams that hard-wire in, lift kits, or anything bolted on. Suction-mount phones and dashcams are fine.
- No off-roadingin our SUVs and trucks unless it’s a maintained dirt road. They’re daily drivers, not Baja rigs.
- No commercial use — no rideshare (Uber/Lyft), no delivery, no driving lessons.
Where you can drive
You can drive anywhere in the continental United States. Mexico and Canada are not allowed under our Turo listing — taking the car across either border voids your protection plan.
Tickets, tolls, citations
Any tolls, parking tickets, or moving violations during your trip are your responsibility. We’ll forward charges to you through Turo with a $15 administrative fee per citation. We strongly suggest using a transponder (FasTrak in CA) — it’s faster and cheaper.
Damage, accidents, theft
If something happens — a fender bender, a scraped wheel, a broken window — tell us right awayand file a Turo trip incident from the app. Your protection plan and Turo’s claims process handle the rest.
For accidents: pull over safely, exchange info with the other party, take photos, call 911 if anyone’s hurt or there’s significant damage, and notify us. For theft: file a police report immediately, then call us.
Hiding damage on return doesn’t end well — we photograph every car at handoff, and Turo will pursue claims for undisclosed damage.
Roadside assistance
Turo’s 24/7 roadside assistance is included on every booking — flat tires, lockouts, jump-starts, and tows. Call the number on your trip sheet. If the issue is mechanical and our fault, we cover the call. If it’s user error (locked the keys in the car, ran out of gas), Turo charges a service fee.
Extensions & cancellation
Need more time? Message us through Turo as early as you can. We can almost always say yes — but only if no one else is booked next.
Cancellations follow Turo’s standard policy: full refundif you cancel within an hour of booking, or more than 24 hours before pickup. After that it’s partial. Same as any Turo host.
